Little is known of the reception of this work and of the first performances. Symphony no. 93 on the other hand, was the first symphony performed in the second season in February 1792. It was described at the time as »a composition of extraordinary merit«, and in a review at the time it was praised »for the most powerful effects of the Science, no one of his compositions can compare with it«. |
