Combocom: Play like Django Reinhardt

The guitarist Jean Baptiste Reinhardt (1910-1953) is universally known by the name of »Django«. Together with Stephane Grappelli and the »Hot Club de France«, he established the fame and worldwide success of a style that has lost none of its magnetism today: »Gypsy swing«. Some of his most famous tunes, such as Honeysuckle Rose, All of me, Sweet Georgia Brown, and even such lost treasures as the Vivace from Bach’s D minor Double Concerto (BWV 1043), are presented here in Reinhardt’s original format for violin, three guitars, and bass.

These twelve arrangements are written for variable combinations consisting of melody part, accompaniment part, one or two parts with guitar patterns, and bass. The editor, violinist Thomas König, is a member of a popular German gypsy swing trio.

This volume continues Bärenreiter’s successful combocom series.
