6 Brandenburgische Konzerte BWV 1046-1051 Erstmals mit den Frühfassungen BWV 1046a & 1050a Bach komponierte die Brandenburgischen Konzerte während seiner Kapellmeistertätigkeit am Hof zu Köthen in den Jahren 1718 bis 1721. Die insgesamt sechs Konzerte für verschiedene Instrumentengruppen gehören zu den meistgespielten Werken Bachs und sind ein fester Bestandteil des heutigen Konzertrepertoires. Die bereits in praktischer Urtext-Ausgabe erschienenen Konzerte I bis IV werden nun durch die Konzerte V und VI komplettiert. Ebenso wie Konzert I enthält auch die jetzt erscheinende Ausgabe von Konzert V die Frühfassung des Werkes und ermöglicht erstmals die Aufführung in beiden Fassungen.

6 Brandenburg Concertos BWV 1046-1051 For the first time including the earlier versions BWV 1046a & 1050a Bach wrote his Brandenburg Concertos from 1718 to 1721 while serving as chapel-master to the court in Cöthen. The six concertos, composed for various groups of solo instruments, are amongst the most frequently performed works in Bach's œuvre and have earned a permanent place in today's concert repertoire. Bärenreiter have already published Concertos nos. 1 through 4 in Urtext performing editions. Now the set is rounded off with Concertos nos. 5 and 6, likewise issued in a conductor's score and orchestral material. As with Concerto no. 1, this new publication of Concerto no. 5 contains the early version of the work, thereby enabling the performance of both versions for the first time.
